Portraits of the Kids

We had the kids pictures taken recently and just received the viewing online.  Don't worry everyone we will be sending out pictures soon.  I know I am not the best at it but I will get them out to you.  Here are a few of our favorites.

If the allergies don't get you the germs may!

Just thought I'd share a little bit of what Jackson has been getting into.  I cannot wait until that kid grows out of his terrible two's!

Since we have been having some good weather we have spent quite a few days at the park.  Well on one of the days Jackson asked if he could use the bathroom.  I made him and Kaleb go together and I stood at the door since nobody was in there and waited.  Kaleb came out and so I hollered at Jackson to hurry up.  Jackson came out just as proud as could be he was chewing something.  I asked to see his mouth.  He was chewing bright neon green gum.  I of course freaked out a bit and made him spit it out immediately!  I questioned him where he got it and he said HE PULLED IT OF THE TOILET!  We went home right then, brushed his teeth, and gave him a vitamin!

Later in the week I took the kids grocery shopping.  All was going well until Jackson began to have a few melt downs at the store.  Now I am familiar with how to deal with temper tantrums for the most part but this I do not feel I quite know how to deal with.  He preceded to lay himself down on the floor in front of the produce and lick the rug.  Disgusting I know!  So glad we were on our way out of the store around that time.

Keep in mind this is the same kid that does not like to eat with his hands because they may get dirty and washes them over and over!

*Update, just found him playing in his dirty toilet water!  Why, oh why?

Still can't capture a smile...

Jackson was napping so Kaleb and I tried to see if Alanna would smile for the camera.  We still haven't captured our little girls smile yet on the camera, even though she has been smiling for several weeks.

Jackson's Allergy Testing

Jackson had allergy testing earlier this week and I am excited to say that things are improving!  He skin tested positive to only dairy, peanut, and oats.  This is huge!  Previously he tested positive to dairy, eggs, peanuts, tree nuts, oats, barley, fish, and shellfish.  The things he tested positive have come down by quite a bit.  His dairy came down from 57 to 5.5 which is amazing.  This means possibly someone could touch his skin with dairy on their hands and he may not have an attack!!!  We still have not gotten back his blood work but we are optimistic.  If things go well we will be able to schedule food challenges (this is where he eats small amounts of the food slowly increasing the amount monitoring him for an attack).  This feels like a miracle!  We will pray that he continues to outgrow his allergies.
I must also say we are extremely thankful how smoothly the whole process went.  Jackson was very helpful and hardly cried during any of the testing.  What a brave boy he was!  Last year it took me and four other staff members to hold him down and they were still unable to draw blood.  Kaleb was really patient through the testing and sat very quietly (Sitting quietly is really hard for him to do-so we were proud of him for all of his efforts).  Alanna slept in her car seat the entire time and only woke up at the end of our visit.  In all I do not believe things could have gone any better.  Thanks for all of your prayers Grandmas!

Jackson's First Dentist Apt.

Jackson had his first dentist appointment.  Proud to say he did not have any cavities.  I would have taken a picture but I was getting my teeth worked on at the time.  Ako said he was a very big boy and cooperated with them the whole time.  He was so proud of his toothbrush, he was still brushing two hours later!

Valentine's Day

The boys woke up to some special Valentine's day treats.

Dinosaurs and Colds

The boys older neighbor friend, Matt, brought over dinosaurs he had outgrown they were thrilled to play with them.  They have been trapped inside a bit lately everyone except myself in our house has a cold.  Even poor little Alanna is ill.  Her nose is pitiful!

Spoiled Already

The boys love to hold Alanna.  Kaleb was thought it was so sweet that she fell asleep on him.
